Once again it has been too long since I posted last. We have been very busy as usual with our responsibilities at the Employment Center and English Connect. We have lost 6 of our Service Missionaries this month with their missions finishing up. We had a meeting with our agent Stake President last week to ask that he calls more missionaries to help us out at the Employment Center. We have a missionary couple that comes in on Mondays and another couple on Tuesdays. There is a single sister on Wednesday with us and two single sisters on Thursday. Our biggest problem is not having enough to help people online.  Hopefully, that will be solved in the near future.

Velyn and I have been attending the Spanish Ward with Abelardo and his friend. We teach them English for 2 hours after Sacrament meeting. We also have a couple from our English Connect class that are coming as well. You probably remember me talking about Luis, and all the joking we did with him in our last course. He and his wife are retaking our class again. We have about 30 people taking the class this time. We have already grown to love them in these last 4 weeks.

The Sister Missionaries are teaching Luis and Xiomara and are doing a great job.  One of the Sister Missionaries, Sister Blau, is being transferred this coming Monday. We will certainly miss her. She is the one on the right in the following picture.

We had two missionary couples that had to leave early. One because his wife had a progresssive disease that needed to be treated more aggressively, and the other because their son suddenly became very ill. We met a new missionary couple, the Chandlers, today, that just moved in. They will be working in the office taking care of the finances and the cars.

The weather is cooling down a little now, so it is only in the high 80's and low 90's now, and is getting all the way down to the low 70's at night. Even though it is a slight change, it sure feels good to us.

We received some bad news on this past Thursday, one of my best friends passed away. Some of you reading this probably remember him. His name is Gene Boomer. When we lived in El Paso, he used to fly into El Paso and we would go down to Mexico together to work on a dairy in Jimenez. We have been close friends for about 30 years. We are planning on going to his funeral once we find out what the arrangements are. Another good friend lost his son to a heart attack two weeks ago. Difficult times for these families.

We passed the half way mark on our mission on October 8th.  It is hard to believe that we have been here for 9 months already! We have been enjoying our mission so much. It could not be more rewarding for us.

Velyn and I were eating at t restaurant the other day and I saw the perfect shoes that I though Kelsey would like. Here is the picture:

However, she politely told me that she already had too many shoes but thanks for thinking of her.  I guess I will just have to order a pair for Velyn for Christmas.

I hope everyone is doing fine and that things are going well. Hopefully, I will do better at posting on a more regular basis.
